This permanent Teaching Assistant post at Wynyard Church of England Primary School splits its 25 weekly hours between classroom support and Tea Club, an after-school provision. Duties centre on supporting pupils' learning and well-being alongside class teachers in the afternoon, then engaging children in activities and keeping them safe and cared for until 6pm. The working day runs Monday to Friday from 1pm to 6pm. An enhanced DBS check and the right to work in the UK are required, and visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Support pupils with their learning, development and well-being in the classroom
- Work closely with class teachers and the wider school team
- Support and engage children in a range of Tea Club activities from 3.30pm to 6pm
- Help provide a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment at Tea Club
- Promote positive relationships with children
- Ensure children are well cared for throughout Tea Club sessions
- Build positive relationships with colleagues and families
