Pastoral Officer post in the Pastoral Team at King's Academy Ringmer, working under the Assistant Principal. The work centres on student welfare, safety and inclusion, with a particular focus on vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils. The post is part-time, three days a week including Mondays and Fridays, and includes running the Ready for Learning room to help students return to lessons. An enhanced DBS check is required and visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Support the Pastoral Team in ensuring the welfare, safety and inclusion of all students, with a focus on vulnerable and disadvantaged students
- Assist in managing behaviour support
- Track achievement and behaviour data
- Set detentions
- Oversee the administration of suspensions
- Run the Ready for Learning (RFL) room
- Support student reintegration, embedding restorative practice so students return to the classroom and make progress
