A temporary One to One Tutor post in English at Outwood Academy Freeston, part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, running until May 2027. The work is delivering intervention programmes to individual pupils, and planning lessons and resources to match their needs. The role covers small groups of two to four or one-to-one sessions across the English curriculum, with an emphasis on GCSE results. Candidates need a related degree, AS/A2 levels or qualified teacher status, and the post requires working knowledge of science up to GCSE level.
What the job involves
- Deliver intervention programmes to individual pupils
- Plan, implement and deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum for individual students
- Develop intervention material, lesson plans and resources
- Support students in small groups of two to four, or one-to-one, across the English curriculum
- Work with department staff to prepare and implement appropriate learning experiences
- Report on individual pupil progress
- Liaise with the Head of Department and teachers and provide feedback
- Support exam revision sessions
- Encourage academic growth and promote the academy's inclusive ethos
- Comply with child safeguarding procedures at all times
What’s required
Qualifications
- Graduate in a related subject, or AS/A2 level in a relevant subject, or qualified teacher status
Skills & knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills
- Excellent IT skills and working knowledge of standard computer packages
- Ability to support science work up to GCSE level
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise work to meet strict deadlines
