This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave cover post as nursing team lead on the surgical ward at Spire Nottingham Hospital. The role deputises for and leads a team of clinical and non-clinical staff, setting standards for nursing care, safety and infection control. The post covers both day and night shifts, and because public transport is limited, candidates need their own transport. Current NMC registration with no restriction on practice is required.
What the job involves
- Deputise for and lead a team of clinical and non-clinical staff
- Provide clinical leadership to ensure consistently high standards of nursing care
- Ensure high standards of care, safety and service for patients, relatives and other customers, including consultants, in line with hospital policy and protocols
- Develop a working environment and culture that improves health, safety, security and infection control
- Lead others in developing knowledge, ideas and work practices
- Plan and allocate work, and assess and give feedback to team members
What’s required
Registration & licences
- Current NMC registration with no restriction on practice
Experience
- Experience of working in surgical settings
- Good management experience in a similar role, with a proven ability to lead a team and develop nursing services
Skills & knowledge
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
