This 12-month maternity cover post is for Assistant Practice Manager at Brookmill Medical Centre, a GP training practice serving almost 9,000 patients. The postholder keeps the practice running day to day, line manages the administration team, oversees clinical services and patient information, and tracks contract targets with the management team. The role starts in late January 2027, with time set aside to hand over from the colleague being covered. Essential NHS experience at supervisory or management level decides fit; general practice experience is desirable.
What the job involves
- Take responsibility for the line management of administration staff
- Maintain clinical services
- Ensure effective administration support
- Manage all aspects of patient information
- Take ownership of the efficient day-to-day running of the practice
- Lead on business, financial and people matters, identifying and acting on practice opportunities
- Monitor contract targets with the rest of the management team
- Support the Managing Partner in day-to-day activities and duties
- Support staff and partners in the running of day-to-day practice functions
Experience
- NHS experience, ideally at supervisory or management level
