A Registered Nurse post on Preston Ward at Priory Hospital Middleton St George, a 13-bed medium secure unit for adult men with mental health and complex needs. The work centres on assessing, planning and delivering nursing care with patients and their families, acting as named nurse for individuals and keeping care plans under review as needs change. The post is full time, 37.5 hours a week, on a trauma-informed model built on therapeutic relationships. Applicants must hold current RMN or RNLD registration with the NMC.
What the job involves
- Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework
- Assess, plan and deliver nursing care with the patient and their carer or family, reflecting patient choice and wishes
- Act as the named nurse for allocated patients
- Observe and engage with patients to assess need and evaluate progress
- Monitor and review nursing care plans
- Evaluate and respond to changes in patients' condition and needs
- Assist qualified staff with assessing patients and implementing individual care plans
- Undertake routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to support wellbeing, dignity and treatment
Qualifications
- Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD)
