This is a domestic cleaning post in the Estates and Facilities Department at Peasley Cross Hospital, for Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. The work is cleaning across the division to national cleanliness, PLACE and CQC standards, following an agreed schedule and keeping records. The role suits someone with prior cleaning or catering experience who can work flexible hours to provide cover throughout the year. Experience of a similar role is essential, and NHS experience is desirable.
What the job involves
- Provide a cleaning service across the division meeting national cleanliness, PLACE and CQC standards
- Follow all policies, procedures and standards to deliver a high-quality service
- Work to an agreed cleaning schedule
- Complete relevant cleaning documentation
- Ensure cleaning equipment and cleaning agents are available
- Work as part of a team on flexible hours to deliver cleaning cover throughout the year
Qualifications
- GCSE or O level, or experience instead
Experience
- Experience of working in a similar role (cleaning or catering)
- Experience of dealing with people
Skills & knowledge
- Works well both independently and as part of a team, supporting department and Trust objectives
- Friendly and helpful with service users, managers and staff
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexible
- Able to carry out manual tasks
- Knowledge of the National Standards of Cleanliness and NHS colour coding

Nice to have
- Foundation certificate in food hygiene level 2
- Training in health and safety and catering or cleaning tasks
- NHS experience, particularly in mental health or community settings
- Understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems

- Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP
- Knowledge of using cleaning equipment
