This mobile Head of Kitchen post sits in the Catering Team at Vertas Group and covers several school sites. The work centres on leading kitchen operations across those sites, cooking and serving meals, and managing stock, ordering and food waste. It runs 25 hours a week over 39.2 weeks a year, with travel between sites. Fit depends on a full UK driving licence, a vehicle of one's own, and the right to work in the UK.
What the job involves
- Preparing, cooking and serving high-quality meals
- Managing day-to-day kitchen operations
- Leading and supporting catering teams across multiple sites
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and health and safety standards
- Managing stock control, ordering and food waste
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Delivering excellent customer service to pupils, staff and visitors
- Supporting sites with planned and unplanned cover
Experience
- Previous experience as a Head of Kitchen, Cook Manager or similar catering role
- Experience in a school or commercial kitchen environment
