This permanent post sits within Guinness Property's national repairs teams, covering Oldham, Moston, Cheetham Hill and the surrounding area for The Guinness Partnership. The work centres on responsive housing repairs and general multi-skilled jobs across several trades, including damp and mould treatment. The post is full-time at 40 hours a week, covering 8am to 7pm weekdays plus Saturday mornings on rota, with an out-of-hours callout rota that is paid extra. The successful candidate must live in the Oldham area and hold a full UK driving licence.
What the job involves
- Carrying out responsive housing repairs
- Carrying out general multi-skilled work across trades
- Carrying out multi-trade tasks including basic plumbing, tiling, joinery, groundwork, mould washing and flooring installation
- Applying damp and mould removal and treatment products in line with health and safety guidelines
- Taking part in the out-of-hours callout rota
- Working later shifts and Saturday mornings on a rota
What’s required
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 (City & Guilds) trade qualification or equivalent recognised competency in the primary trade
Experience
- Working in a customer-focused environment, ideally in social housing
- Consistent track record of delivering high-quality service
Skills & knowledge
- Competence in the primary trade and multi-trade tasks
- Working methodically, meeting targets and following agreed procedures
- Accurate recording of information
- Working with minimal supervision, with organisation and time management
- Carrying out physical damp and mould treatment in line with health and safety guidance
- Operating safely, considering environmental conditions and risks
