This 12-month fixed-term secondment sits in the Continuing Healthcare finance team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. It covers verifying, preparing and paying Continuing Healthcare and Funded Nursing Care placements with independent providers, plus inputting data and keeping control accounts accurate. Remote working and flexible arrangements are offered, and Welsh is desirable though English speakers are equally welcome. Applicants on secondment need their line manager's permission before applying.
What the job involves
- Verify, prepare and pay Continuing Healthcare and Funded Nursing Care placements to independent providers
- Prepare and input data to the Health Board's computer systems
- Analyse data
- Ensure control accounts are accurate
- Provide assistance to the CHC finance team
Qualifications
- GCSE Maths at grade C or higher
- GCSE English at grade C or higher
Experience
- Expertise in using spreadsheets and databases
Skills & knowledge
- Understanding of how spreadsheets and databases are used
- High integrity and self-motivation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to relate to staff at all levels
- Team player
- Excellent written and oral communication and numeracy skills
Other
- Willingness to attend meetings outside normal working hours, across the Health Board area and outside North Wales
Nice to have
- AAT qualification
- University degree at 2:2 level
- Understanding of accounting theories and processes, including book-keeping
- Experience of solving financial calculations and reconciliations
- Ability to speak Welsh
