This Mobile Mechanic post sits in the Mechanical Engineering Services team at Forestry and Land Scotland, which repairs and maintains fleet vehicles, machinery and equipment across Scotland from three workshop areas. The work ranges from cars, vans and 4x4s to trailers, quads and forest harvesters and forwarders. What the job involves
- Repair and maintain FLS vehicles, machinery and fleet equipment safely and economically
- Work on a wide range of vehicles and machines, from cars, vans and 4x4s to trailers, quads and forest harvesters and forwarders
- Carry out on-site work in the forest environment from a mobile mechanics' van
- Use modern workshop equipment, including vehicle ramps, computer-based diagnostics and hand tools
