Southgate School, a mixed comprehensive with around 1,400 pupils including a sixth form, is recruiting a Medical Officer to run its day-to-day medical room. The post leads whole-school first aid, both on site and on school trips, and supports pupils with medical needs, including emergencies. It also coordinates the other First Aiders and keeps track of who is trained and who needs updating. An enhanced DBS check and right to work are required, and visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Lead whole-school first aid provision in school and on school trips
- Act as main First Aider and coordinate support from other First Aiders
- Oversee which staff hold current First Aid training and which need updating
- Support students with medical needs arising during the school day, including emergencies
