The post carries responsibility for departmental staff and technicians, curriculum, assessment and improvement planning, with a focus on raising attainment for disadvantaged and vulnerable learners. The specialism is Design Technology or Food, and the emphasis is on leading the department and its standards. Applicants must show a strong record of classroom practice, and visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Lead and develop the Technology department, including departmental staff and technician support
- Drive high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement
- Oversee curriculum development, assessment and departmental improvement planning
- Monitor progress and implement strategies to raise attainment for all learners, including disadvantaged and vulnerable students
- Ensure effective management of resources and the highest standards of health and safety
