Physical Health Nurse post at Priory Hospital Market Weighton, a level 2 rehabilitation hospital for adult men running a bespoke therapeutic programme. The role leads physical health assessments, care planning and reviews, and site-wide infection prevention and control, with hand-on ECGs, phlebotomy and wound care. It is part-time at 22.5 hours a week and works closely with Priory's community services on discharge. Applicants need to be a Registered General Nurse with NMC registration and two years' post-registration physical health experience.
What the job involves
- Lead physical healthcare assessments, care planning and ongoing reviews for patients
- Give specialist advice on diabetes, hypertension, COPD and wound care
- Lead infection prevention and control across the site, including audits and outbreak management
- Deliver physical healthcare interventions including ECGs, phlebotomy and wound care
- Liaise with primary care services to coordinate patients' ongoing healthcare needs
- Support and train nursing staff in physical healthcare, observations and clinical assessments
- Lead health promotion and smoking cessation initiatives
Qualifications
- Completed preceptorship programme
Registration & licences
- Registered General Nurse with active NMC registration
Experience
- Minimum 2 years post-registration experience in a physical healthcare setting
Skills & knowledge
- Knowledge of NMC guidelines and professional practice
- Strong communication and clinical assessment skills
Checks & eligibility
- Successful disclosure at an appropriate level (DBS, Access NI or Disclosure Scotland)

- Evidence of continued professional development
