A bank Registered Mental Health Nurse post with Prometheus Safe & Secure, which provides secure patient transport and enhanced observations for NHS and private healthcare partners. The work centres on leading patient safety during transfers, hospital bed watches and places of safety activity, including Section 136 pathways. It is a 24/7 rota role with crisis intervention, handovers and team leadership on each shift. NMC registration with two years' post-registration experience and a full UK driving licence are required.
What the job involves
- Lead patient safety and care during transfers, bed watches and places of safety work, including PSS, PCC and Section 136 pathways
- Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate evidence-based interventions during time-critical movements and at the bedside
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation, including physical intervention when required
- Take ownership of full handovers covering risk history, current presentation and care plan
- Brief the team, allocate tasks and set the standard on shift
- Safeguard children and adults under local policy and the Mental Health Act
- Record promptly and precisely, escalating incidents and near misses to the Clinical Logistics Manager
- Uphold confidentiality, equality, diversity and data protection
- Check vehicles and equipment before departures and report restock needs
- Work flexibly across a 24/7 rota and attend base in company uniform
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, ward staff, AMHPs and external healthcare professionals
What’s required
Registration & licences
- NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid PIN
Experience
- At least two years' post-registration experience

- Excellent communication, teamwork and leadership
- Staying calm, professional and decisive in challenging situations
