This Teaching Assistant post at Saint Paul's Catholic High School, part of Corpus Christi Catholic Academy Trust, is a permanent role with lead responsibility for pupils who need help overcoming barriers to learning. The postholder leads interventions, helps the teacher write individual education, behaviour, support and mentoring plans, and mentors students one to one, including those in distress. The work centres on students with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and runs 35 hours a week across 39 term-time weeks. Visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Lead support for students who need help overcoming barriers to learning
- Manage student interventions
- Help the teacher develop and implement individual education, behaviour, support and mentoring plans
- Set up one-to-one mentoring with students and support those who are distressed
- Support students' access to learning using suitable strategies and resources
Experience
- Strong background supporting students with additional educational needs
- Experience working with children or young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
