Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal, an inpatient mental health service for young people and adults, is recruiting a Director of Clinical Services on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave for 12 months. The role leads clinical governance, quality assurance, safeguarding, complaints and restrictive practice reduction, and supports regulatory inspections and service improvement. The post also carries senior management on-call duties. Applicants must be registered with the NMC or HCPC.
What the job involves
- Provide clinical and operational leadership and drive the hospital's quality strategy
- Lead clinical governance, audits and incident investigations
- Lead safeguarding and complaints management
- Lead the reduction of restrictive practice
- Oversee quality assurance and support regulatory inspections
- Monitor patient and family experience
- Develop and implement service improvement plans
- Coach, train and give professional guidance to enhance clinical practice
- Ensure contractual quality standards are met
- Contribute to organisational policies and initiatives
- Work collaboratively with clinical teams and key stakeholders
- Take part in senior management on-call duties as required
Qualifications
- Recognised post-registration qualification
- Full membership or accreditation of a relevant professional institution
Registration & licences
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or Health and Care Professions Council
Skills & knowledge
- Detailed understanding of statutory regulations
