This Teaching Assistant post sits in the Inclusion and SEND team at Hampton Gardens Secondary School, part of Hampton Academies Trust. The work centres on supporting students with additional needs, including those with EHCPs and SEMH needs, through intervention, induction and small-group learning. Duties also include monitoring progress, feeding back to teachers and supporting clubs at break, lunch or after school, on a term-time pattern. Visa sponsorship is not available, so the right to work in the UK is essential.
What the job involves
- Support students with additional needs, including those with EHCPs, to engage, progress and succeed
- Support students with SEMH needs, promoting positive behaviour, engagement and wellbeing
- Support student induction, assessment, intervention and ongoing learning
- Assist with planning and delivery of learning activities for individuals and small groups
- Monitor student progress and give feedback to teachers
- Support teaching staff and work with the Inclusion, SEND and Pastoral teams, including the SENDCo and SEN Leadership Team
- Contribute to improving attendance and raising standards
- Support targeted activities or clubs at break, lunchtime or after school as part of the Achievement Support programme
