A combined post at Hampton Gardens Secondary School, covering Teaching Assistant work in lessons and Midday Supervision at lunchtime, on a fixed-term contract to 31 August 2027 in the first instance. The work centres on supporting students individually and in small groups, including those with SEND, and running a calm, well-run lunchtime. Hours are 8.30am to 3.10pm in term time plus a short midday session, alongside the SENDCo and inclusion team. Visa sponsorship is not available, and an enhanced DBS check is required.
What the job involves
- Support individual students and small groups with learning activities
- Assist students with SEND and/or additional needs
- Support literacy, numeracy and classroom-based activities
- Help teachers engage students with their learning
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, well-managed learning environment
- Support behaviour for learning in the classroom
- Supervise lunchtime to keep it safe and orderly
- Support students in social interactions and promote respectful behaviour at lunchtime
