This is a lunchtime post at St Mary's Church of England Primary School in Bitteswell, part of Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust. It is a fixed-term contract to July 2027, term time only, working 12:00 to 1:30pm each school day. The core of the work is supervising children during and after lunch, running playground games, watching over meals in the hall and dealing with minor injuries. Enhanced DBS check is required and visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Supervise children at lunchtime and afterwards, indoors or outdoors, keeping them safe in line with the School Behaviour Policy
- Play playground games with children and encourage collaborative play
- Guide children to active, fun and engaging activities and games
- Watch hot meals and packed lunches being eaten in the hall to check children eat healthy, balanced meals
- Help children cut up their food where needed
- Encourage good behaviour and table manners
- Supervise the playground, or indoors in wet weather
- Deal with minor injuries such as cuts, grazes and bruises
- Make sure eating areas are clean and tidy at the end of lunchtime
