A board-level post on the Strategic Management Board of the NHS East and South East London Pathology Partnership, which is hosted by Barts Health and covers seven laboratories. The director leads clinical governance, quality management, service improvement, training, compliance, risk and health and safety across the network. The role also carries accountability for UKAS, MHRA and other regulatory accreditation, and for quality leadership as the network takes in new member organisations. Senior quality management experience in pathology and experience of regulatory inspections are essential.
What the job involves
- Lead clinical governance, quality management, service improvement, training, compliance, risk and health and safety across all seven laboratories
- Hold accountability for UKAS, MHRA and other regulatory accreditation
- Manage the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and complaints processes
- Maintain the Partnership's risk register
- Deliver service improvements arising from service changes and Cost Improvement Programmes
- Take part in strategic and day-to-day decisions as a board member
- Provide quality and improvement leadership for expansion to new member organisations
- Work with the director team and wider senior leadership team to direct the Partnership
What’s required
Experience
- Significant senior-level quality management experience in pathology services
- Significant experience of continuous quality improvement, clinical safety and working with regulators or accreditation bodies such as UKAS and HTA
- Experience of managing regulatory compliance inspections
Skills & knowledge
- Building and leading teams and working effectively as part of a team
- Detailed knowledge of UKAS, HTA, MHRA and other regulatory and accreditation requirements
