The Creative Partnerships Lead covers a nine-month maternity leave inside the commercial team at BBC Studios Audio, reporting to the Head of Commercial Partnerships. The post owns creative advertising such as network reads, host reads and branded content, and checks every script for advertising compliance and brand safety. Its focus sits between commercial, ad sales and production, with sales support aimed mainly at US partners across a wide podcast and radio slate. The start is ASAP and interviews are on 6 November over Zoom.

What the job involves

  • Deliver the creative partnerships and advertising strategy with the Head of Commercial Partnerships and Senior Commercial Lead, driving revenue across the slate
  • Own creative solutions (network reads, host reads, branded content) end to end, from scripts to recordings, edits, costings and delivery against KPIs
  • Review and approve all advertising, sponsorship and host-read scripts against BBC and Ofcom rules, and manage compliance incidents and complaints
  • Maintain the compliance framework and brand safety materials, monitor ad tech brand safety settings, and cover responsible AI use and music licensing in production
  • Act as the expert for ad sales partners on what can be sold, including onboarding, product set, pricing, inventory and delivery to proof of delivery
  • Lead go-to-market collateral so sales partners, mainly in the US, can sell the slate and new launches
  • Originate direct partnership opportunities with agencies and brands, and respond to briefs with branded segments or full branded podcasts
  • Act as single point of contact for production teams on commercial requests, turning sales commitments into clear production briefs
  • Provide commercial input on new, transferring and co-production titles, including reach projections and investment risk

Experience

  • Delivering creative advertising solutions such as host reads, sponsorship or branded content in podcasting, audio, broadcast or digital media
  • Originating partnership opportunities through an established agency and brand network
  • Working with production teams and talent, with an understanding of their needs

Skills & knowledge

  • Natural storytelling and writing persuasive sales collateral and pitch materials
  • Working knowledge of advertising compliance and brand safety, including BBC advertising guidelines, Ofcom and CAP/BCAP codes
  • Highly organised confident communicator, managing multiple campaigns, deadlines, budgets and complex stakeholder relationships

Nice to have

  • Experience of branded podcast production and budgeting
  • Familiarity with ad tech and dynamic ad insertion platforms
  • Experience of selling into or working with partners in the US advertising market
  • Experience of working in a matrix organisation
  • A genuine interest in a wide range of genre content

What’s offered

  • Flexible working can be discussed, with a preference indicated in the application or at offer stage
