A Level 1 Teaching Assistant post at Highfield Littleport Academy, a special school for pupils aged 2 to 19, supporting pupils with additional needs in classrooms. The work centres on helping individuals and small groups learn, build independence and manage behaviour and wellbeing under the direction of the class teacher. It is permanent and term-time, with 32.5 hours across 39 weeks, starting as soon as possible. Visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Support teaching and learning with individuals or small groups under the classroom teacher
- Help pupils follow instructions, stay engaged and develop independence in learning and play
- Assist with behaviour support, inclusion and pupils' emotional and social wellbeing
- Prepare and maintain learning environments, resources and displays for lessons
- Contribute to pupil supervision, record keeping, safeguarding and the daily running of school activities
