Dental Nurse in Lincoln

Locum dental nurse post on an eight-week assignment with the Ministry of Defence, supplied by Military Medical Personnel and based at RAF Waddington Dental Centre. The work centres on clinical support, sterilising instruments, processing radiographs and keeping patient and prosthetic records. The role is for treating service personnel and carries 37.5 hours a week. Fit depends on current GDC registration, and MMP cannot sponsor work visas.

What the job involves

• Assist with clinical duties, including preparing and sterilising instruments, operating the dental computing system and processing radiographs
• Manage patient appointments and dental records
• Document dental prosthetic appliances properly
• Follow infection control procedures and Health and Safety policies
• Assist in the central sterilisation area as required
• Ensure compliance with GDC standards and current legislation

What’s required

Qualifications

• Current emergency and resuscitation certification
• Safeguarding Children and Adults Level 3 certification
• Relevant CPD, such as medical emergencies, safeguarding and radiography

Registration & licences

• Full registration with the General Dental Council
• Valid indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation

Experience

• At least 2 clinical sessions a week over the last 15 months

Checks & eligibility

• PVG membership (Disclosure Scotland) or Access NI certificate
• Existing right to work in the UK, such as a valid visa with no restriction on hours

Other

• Health clearance for exposure prone procedures (tuberculosis, hepatitis, HIV)
