Part-time Support Worker post at Christian Head Residential Home, within Westmorland and Furness Council's Care Services, for 23 to 25 hours a week. The role centres on personal care, supporting residents' physical and emotional wellbeing and helping with medication. The home provides residential and respite care for up to 28 older adults, some with dementia, on day and night shifts over seven days. Prior experience is not necessarily needed to start, but an enhanced DBS check with an Adults Barred List check is required.
What the job involves
- Get to know residents individually and support their wellbeing through physical and emotional care
- Provide personal care
- Assist residents with medication
- Encourage residents to achieve or maintain their independence
- Support residents to live as they choose and enjoy their later years
- Encourage good nutrition, fitness and mobility
- Work day shifts (7am to 10pm) or night shifts (9.30pm to 7.30am) over seven days, including alternate weekends and bank holidays
