The postholder sets contracting strategy, leads negotiations with commissioners and oversees contract performance, income and risk. Cross-system work across the BSW Group and Integrated Care System, plus leading a team, sets it apart, and travel and rotation may be required. What the job involves
- Lead the development and delivery of the contracting strategy
- Lead complex contract negotiations with commissioners and system partners
- Oversee the management, performance and governance of NHS contracts
- Ensure robust income forecasting, reconciliation and income recovery
- Provide expert advice on contractual, commercial and financial risks and opportunities
- Lead contract performance reporting and assurance
- Support implementation of national payment mechanisms and contracting reforms
- Develop collaborative relationships across the Trust, BSW Group and IC S partners
- Lead, motivate and develop the Contracts Team
What’s required
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant
- Knowledge of NHS contracting
Experience
- Experience as an NHS contracting, commissioning or healthcare finance professional
- Understanding of income within the NHS
Skills & knowledge
- Excellent analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence at senior levels
