The non-clinical role keeps the ward running so nursing staff can focus on direct patient care, covering meals, drinks, kitchen stock and welcoming patients and visitors. What the job involves
- Welcoming new patients and visitors and helping keep the ward comfortable and safe
- Ordering meals, serving food and running tea and coffee rounds
- Assisting with feeding patients under nurse supervision
- Topping up kitchen stock
- Ensuring the kitchen area is clean
- Liaising with cleaning and domestic teams
- Ordering stock
- Reporting maintenance issues
Qualifications
- Maths and English at pass level
