This is a senior post in the shared finance and pension service that serves London Borough of Sutton and Kingston councils, sitting on the senior management team. The holder leads both councils' LGPS pension funds and the treasury management function, working with the Head of Pensions Administration and reporting to the Directors of Finance. It is a full-time, 36-hour hybrid role with attendance at committees and Pension Board for both councils. Sponsorship is not guaranteed, so right to work must be confirmed first.
What the job involves
- Provide strategic leadership and management of the Sutton and Kingston LGPS pension funds
- Lead the treasury management function, including the councils' cash position
- Work with the Head of Pensions Administration to provide professional leadership to both funds
- Report to the Directors of Finance
- Attend committees and Pension Board meetings for both councils
- Manage relationships with the London CIV, independent advisers, actuaries and other stakeholders
- Work directly with elected Members and senior officers to deliver investment outcomes
- Apply for the LGPS Senior Responsible Operator role for both funds, through a separate selection process, with a 10% salary allowance if appointed
