Havant and South Downs College is recruiting a Photography Technician to support staff and students in photography. The post centres on running the daily learning environment, equipment and teaching resources, and supervising designated learning areas. It is part-time at 10 hours a week across 36 weeks. Applicants need a Level 2 qualification or relevant industry experience, plus a technical qualification in the subject.
What the job involves
- Run the daily operation of the learning environment, equipment and teaching resources
- Supervise designated learning areas
- Organise daily activities, including preparing teaching resources and housekeeping
- Assist individual students or groups within the learning environment
- For some departments, run work placements and instruct or direct students
- Take part in course review and in creating and carrying out new resources and action plans
- Implement and maintain the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and related legislation
- Distribute and collect tools daily, where applicable

Qualifications
- Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area, or relevant industry experience
- Technical qualification in the relevant subject area
Experience
- Relevant industrial or subject experience
- Following and applying health and safety procedures
- Ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels
Skills & knowledge
- Working knowledge of the relevant curriculum area
