The Clinical Manager post sits at Cygnet Hospital Harrogate, a mental health hospital running an emergency admissions service across two acute wards. The role coordinates the hospital's clinical work, sets clinical standards and supports staff through appraisal and training. It is a full-time, 40-hour post with on-call duties in support of the Hospital Manager. Fit depends on RMN or RNLD registration with a valid PIN and at least four years' nursing experience.
What the job involves
- Ensure the highest standard of clinical care is provided
- Co-ordinate all clinical aspects of the hospital and co-operation between clinicians
- Implement hospital policies, procedures and regulations
- Update legal documentation in line with company guidelines, NMC guidelines, legislation and current research
- Support staff through regular appraisals, training and evidence-based practice
- Keep up to date with statutory law and compliance
- Work with the Hospital Manager to resolve concerns and provide cohesive leadership
- Act up as required by the Hospital Manager
- Carry out on-call duties in support of the Hospital Manager
What’s required
Registration & licences
- NMC registration as an RMN or RNLD with a valid PIN
Experience
- At least four years' nursing experience
- Current Clinical Manager or Ward Manager role, or significant experience in a senior nursing role
- Experience in an acute, rehabilitation, mental health or forensic psychiatry setting
- Evidence of a supervisory clinical role within a multi-disciplinary team in a similar setting
