This is a permanent, full-time senior operations post at Nuffield Health's Exeter Hospital, the charity's site beside the RD&E. The holder supports the Hospital Director and Director of Clinical Services to lead the hospital, meeting quality and financial targets, owning service budgets and driving revenue growth through service development. The site runs theatres, a hybrid cardiac lab, two wards and MAKO robots for joint replacement, and the post requires flexibility with working hours. Fit depends on proven commercial experience, ideally in a hospital, and experience of managing outsourced services.
What the job involves
- Support the Hospital Director and Director of Clinical Services to lead and develop the hospital, exceeding agreed quality and financial targets
- Give clear leadership and direction for specific services, in line with Nuffield Health's strategic goals
- Share knowledge, expertise and best practice across the site and with colleagues across Nuffield Health
- Develop service budgets, stay accountable for working within them and provide timely management information
- Help shape the local self-pay pricing strategy to keep the hospital competitive
- Deliver a patient pathway that gives high levels of customer service to all patients
- Promote the charity's connected service propositions to the local consumer market in line with the sales plan
- Deliver the hospital's growth plans and revenue targets through service development activities
- Build cross-functional working with other regional hospitals, sharing resources and knowledge
- Coach, mentor and role model a 'Customer First' culture

- Significant, proven commercial experience, ideally in a hospital setting
