The role centres on assessing, planning, delivering and reviewing the care and learning of nursery children, with regular feedback for parents and carers. Shifts are daytime, Monday to Friday, and must fall within 08:00 to 18:00. Applicants need a National Diploma in Early Years Childcare or an equivalent, and band 2 staff working towards band 3 may also be considered.
What the job involves
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care and development of children at First Steps Nursery
- Provide feedback to parents and carers on children's progress
- Deliver both child-led and adult-led learning
- Act as a positive role model for all children
- Follow the Trust's Safeguarding Children Policy and Devon Safeguarding Children Board procedures
- Engage with specialist safeguarding services as and when necessary
Qualifications
- National Diploma in Early Years Childcare or equivalent
Skills & knowledge
- Good people skills
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements
