Bank paediatric nursing post on the surgical ward at Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital, which shares its site with an NHS Trust hospital. The work centres on caring for children aged 3 to 16 before and after surgery and during clinics and procedures, while supporting their parents or guardians. Hours are ad hoc and set around the hospital's needs and your availability, with exposure to a broad range of cases and specialist areas. Post-registration experience and NMC registration are required.
What the job involves
- Care for children aged 3 to 16 before and after surgery on the ward
- Look after children attending clinics and procedures around the hospital
- Support children through their hospital stay and act as a trusted support for parents or guardians
- Deliver high quality, clinically effective care as part of the ward team
- Broaden skills across a wide variety of cases
- Work within different specialist areas
Qualifications
- Qualifications relevant to NMC registration
Registration & licences
- Registered with the appropriate governing body, including NMC
Experience
- Post-registration experience
Skills & knowledge
- Alert, focused, detail-oriented and empathetic
- Team player with a passion for exceptional patient care
Nice to have
- Intermediate Life Support (ILS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
- Surgical ward experience
- Experience across both paediatric and adult care environments
