Grounds Maintenance Apprentice post with Chrysalis Multi Academy Trust, a 24-month apprenticeship within the Trust's grounds team. The apprentice helps maintain the Trust's grounds and outdoor spaces while learning practical horticulture and working towards an accredited apprenticeship qualification, with training from experienced colleagues. Full-time hours run 8am to 4pm including study leave, and much of the work is outdoors in all weathers. Applicants need an enhanced DBS check and the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Help maintain the Trust's grounds and outdoor spaces
- Carry out practical grounds maintenance and horticulture tasks
- Gain hands-on experience across all aspects of grounds maintenance and horticulture
- Use tools and equipment safely
- Work towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification
Skills & knowledge
- Genuine interest in grounds maintenance, gardening or horticulture
- Enjoys outdoor practical work
- Good communication skills and a team player
- Willingness to learn new practical skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely with tools and equipment
- Good organisation and pride in maintaining high standards
