Blackmoor Park Infants' School is recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant who also covers lunchtime as a Mid-Day Assistant. In class, the post means planning and delivering lessons with a class teacher and supporting pupils with complex learning or pastoral needs. At lunchtime, the focus is pupil welfare, safety and behaviour, with basic first aid. Term-time only at 22.5 hours a week from 1 January 2027, subject to funding, and visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Plan and deliver lessons alongside a class teacher
- Create a stimulating, inclusive classroom where children feel safe and valued
- Assess children's progress
- Support pupils with complex learning and pastoral needs
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents on each child's development
- Supervise children in the hall, playground and other areas at lunchtime
- Ensure the welfare, safety and good behaviour of all children at lunchtime
- Support positive play, social skills and personal needs
- Help pupils with meals and promote healthy eating
- Administer basic first aid and report incidents under school procedures
