Primary Care 24 is seeking GPs for its bank workforce, to work shifts across its GP practices as and when they are needed. The work covers patient consultations, diagnosis and care planning, medicines management, and joined-up care with secondary and community NHS teams. Shifts run on weekdays between 8:00 and 18:30, and bank staff choose which available shifts to bid for. Full GMC registration is needed to apply.
What the job involves
- Deliver medical services with due care, applying skills and experience in line with good medical practice
- Diagnose and investigate patients' conditions, putting a care plan and management in place
- Manage medicines and occasional urgent test results
- Integrate social prescribing into patient care
- Support clinical colleagues and operational teams
- Work with clinical leads and the medical director to challenge and improve the service
- Keep clinical reports to the highest standard
- Consider community needs and the wider determinants of health
- Keep thorough clinical records
- Work with other healthcare professionals and providers, including secondary and community NHS staff, using all available communication routes such as advice and guidance
What’s required
Registration & licences
- Full GMC registration and licence to practise
Skills & knowledge
- Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance
- Ability to take independent clinical decisions and seek advice when needed
- Ability to manage own time and workload in line with SLAs
- Excellent interpersonal skills and sensitive communication
- Written and spoken English sufficient for effective communication
- Competent with IT and clinical systems
