Graduate Tutor post at Harris Girls' Academy East Dulwich, on a fixed-term contract running to July 2027. The work is one-to-one and small-group tutoring in maths and science, supporting students to build their knowledge, confidence and exam progress alongside teachers in lessons. It is term-time only, 40 weeks a year at 37.5 hours a week, and suits a graduate with A Level and degree-level maths or science. Visa sponsorship is not available, and an enhanced DBS check is required.
What the job involves
- Delivering programmes of study to small groups and in one-to-one settings
- Ensuring students have every opportunity to meet their examination targets
- Liaising with parents about the attendance, progress and attitude of designated students
- Maintaining records of students' progress against examination targets
- Completing marking and providing feedback
- Highlighting individual learning needs to the teacher in whole-class lessons and agreeing how to support them
- Assisting the teacher to evaluate identified students' progress through agreed assessment activities
- Supporting identified students to engage with lesson learning objectives
- Planning with teachers the role they will take in each lesson
- Preparing resources that meet students' needs and interests
