The work centres on the dining service: helping residents choose and eat their meals, laying tables to standard, and keeping front-of-house areas clean and stocked with snacks and fruit. The home is one of over 100 in the group, and restaurant or hotel experience is looked on favourably. A DBS check is required and the employer pays for it, and proof of right to work in the UK is also needed.
What the job involves
- Support the dining service and help residents with their meals
- Help residents choose their meal options at mealtimes
- Set dining tables in line with standard operating procedures
- Keep front-of-house areas clean, tidy and well-presented
- Clear dirty crockery and replenish it throughout the day
- Keep fresh homemade cakes and biscuits, finger food and fresh fruit available in the bistro areas
- Be aware of residents' dietary requirements
