What the job involves
- Deliver fire safety regulation, advice, education and enforcement for the Fire & Rescue Authority
- Carry out short, remote or full fire safety audits under the Risk Based Inspection Programme
- Make non-regulatory visits
- Advise and guide duty holders
- Take formal enforcement action where appropriate
- Review building consultations and licensing applications
- Respond to complaints
- Liaise with stakeholders
- Prepare reports and documentation on fire safety regulation and enforcement
- Once Level 4 qualified, support the Building Safety Regulator through advice, inspections and partnership working under the Building Safety Act 2022
- Rotate between teams occasionally, with suitable notice
- Travel across the South East region occasionally
