The Ministry of Justice runs a Probation Service returner scheme for former qualified senior probation officers wishing to rejoin the service. Entry is a fast-track return with no lengthy application or retraining; contracts are temporary for three, six or nine months, with the option to extend or convert to permanent.
Candidates who left the Civil Service within the last five years and completed probation are eligible, with enhanced security vetting.
