What the job involves
- Support the catering function with food preparation
- Maintain a clean kitchen environment for the safe production of drinks and meals
- Apply safe food handling principles to keep hygiene to a high standard
- Deliver a high-quality, comprehensive service to residents
- Work as part of the team, responding to colleagues and carrying out reasonable instructions promptly
- Advise on the supply and quality of items used and order replacement goods in good time
- Treat residents and their visitors with dignity and respect for each resident's individuality
Qualifications
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Skills & knowledge
- Knowledge of health and safety, including moving and handling, fire safety and COSHH assessments
- High standards of personal hygiene
- Capacity for sustained physical effort and a demanding workload
- Initiative and a flexible approach to team working
- Caring and understanding attitude towards residents
