Heron Hall Academy, a mixed secondary school in North Star Community Trust, is recruiting a Head of Sixth Form to lead its growing post-16 provision. The post-holder leads the academic, pastoral and personal development of Year 12 and 13 students and drives their progress. The role also builds links with families, universities, employers and apprenticeship providers, working alongside the senior leadership team. Visa sponsorship is not available, and the start date is 1 January 2027.

- Lead the Sixth Form and create a positive, inspiring environment for students
- Lead the academic, pastoral and personal development of Year 12 and 13 students

- Work with the Senior Leadership Team and colleagues across the Academy

Experience
- Strong experience of teaching in secondary education, including at Key Stage 5
- Proven track record of improving outcomes and driving positive change
- Experience of leading and developing Sixth Form or post-16 provision
Skills & knowledge
- Strong leadership skills, including inspiring, supporting and developing staff
- Good understanding of post-16 curriculum, assessment and progression routes
- Ability to use data to identify priorities and improve student outcomes
- Excellent communication and relationship-building with students, families, staff and external partners
