Neale-Wade Academy, part of the Active Learning Trust, is recruiting a permanent cover supervisor to keep lessons running when teachers are away. The post centres on taking classes through pre-prepared work, managing behaviour and keeping students safe and on task. It is a term-time role of 32.5 hours a week across 39 weeks, with duties spread through the school each day. Visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Supervise classes on pre-prepared activities to maintain learning during planned or unplanned teacher absence
- Manage behaviour, keep learners on task and take responsibility for their safety and wellbeing
- Prepare learning spaces and resources, collect completed work and restore areas after lessons
- Keep appropriate records and give teachers clear feedback on work, progress, behaviour and any issues arising
- Communicate positively with learners, colleagues and relevant professionals to support learning and wellbeing
