A permanent-style teaching assistant post in the early years (age 3+) setting at All Saints Church of England Academy, part of the Diocese of Coventry Multi Academy Trust. The work centres on supporting pupils' communication, inclusion and independence, helping to plan, deliver and assess activities, and looking after their general welfare and personal care. Candidates need an enhanced DBS check with barred list and the right to work in the UK, and visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Help pupils develop communication skills and role play
- Promote inclusion and acceptance, encouraging pupils to interact, co-operate and take part in activities
- Promote independence and self-esteem
- Assist with lesson and activity planning, delivery and evaluation
- Monitor individual and group achievement of key objectives and feed back to the teacher
- Contribute to pupil assessment through observation and reporting
- Record information for assessment and review of pupil progress
- Monitor and provide for pupils' general care, safety and welfare, including social inclusion and personal and physical care such as hygiene support under personal plans
