Demi Chef de Partie

This permanent role sits in the Master of the Household's Office within the Royal Household, as a junior chef in the kitchen team. The work centres on preparing food to a high standard for royal functions, receptions and staff lunches, and helping senior chefs plan seasonal menus from estate produce. What sets it apart is the travel: up to 12 weeks a year across other Royal residences, with split shifts on those weeks. A City and Guilds catering qualification or equivalent is required.

What the job involves

• Prepare meals to high standards across kitchen areas for employee catering, events and receptions
• Support senior chefs in creating seasonal menus using produce from the local estates
• Plan and develop menu items for royal functions, events and employee lunches
• Support senior chefs while developing your own cooking skills
• Collaborate with all kitchen sections to keep service efficient
• Deputise for senior team members when needed
• Work at different Royal residences, up to 12 weeks across the year, maintaining standards
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of kitchen areas and equipment under hygiene regulations

• City and Guilds catering qualification or equivalent

• Working knowledge of health and safety and wider legislative requirements
• Proven planning and organisational skills
• Clear communication in a kitchen environment
