A casual Glow Steward post on the RHS Glow winter light trail, the Society's annual evening event in its garden. Stewards welcome and assist visitors, keep the crowds evenly spread and support health and safety on site. Shifts of about six hours run on various evenings from late November to early January, outdoors and in all weathers, including weekends and peak dates.
What the job involves
- Welcome visitors to the Glow event and answer their queries
- Ensure visitors have a positive experience throughout the event
- Monitor and maintain an even flow of visitors through the event space
- Follow health and safety regulations and training at all times
- Help implement incident protocols, such as in a power failure
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Work regular shifts, including weekends and peak holiday dates
