A full-time consultant psychiatrist post on the CAMHS ward at Priory Hospital Roehampton. The work centres on clinical responsibility for inpatients, leading ward rounds and risk reviews, and acting as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act. The role also covers supervising junior doctors, clinical governance and on-call cover across satellite sites. Applicants need MRCPsych or equivalent, a CCT, GMC Specialist Register entry and Approved Clinician status.
What the job involves
- Take clinical responsibility for patients, leading multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews and treatment planning
- Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983
- Lead psychiatric assessments, support admissions and give specialist input to the multidisciplinary team
- Support the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans, ensuring dignity, respect and high standards of care
- Contribute to clinical governance, service development and strategic planning
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and contribute to training programmes
- Maintain CPD and revalidation requirements
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide cover across satellite sites when required
Qualifications
- MRCPsych or an equivalent qualification
- CCT or equivalent
Registration & licences
- Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register
- Section 12(2) approval
- Approved Clinician status
