Locum consultant post for 26 weeks at Catterick Occupational Health, supplied by Military Medical Personnel for the Ministry of Defence. The role gives specialist occupational health advice on service personnel's employability, deployability and continued employment, to defence medical staff and the Chain of Command. It involves fitness for work assessments and Medical Boards, where the post-holder may act as President or Board Member. What the job involves
- Give specialist occupational health advice to defence primary healthcare staff and the Chain of Command on service personnel's employability, deployability and ongoing employment
- Carry out fitness for work assessments and Medical Boards under single Service and joint medical employment policy, acting as President or Board Member as required
- Complete reports and documentation in line with MoD policy or the requirements of other government departments
- Advise service personnel on their employment when they appear before fitness for work assessments and Medical Boards
Qualifications
- Current membership of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine
Registration & licences
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for occupational medicine, with no restrictions in practice
- Current, satisfactory annual appraisal under the GMC's Good Medical Practice
Checks & eligibility
- Full UK driving licence
- Current safeguarding certification for children, young people and adults to Level 3
- PVG membership (Disclosure Scotland) or Access Northern Ireland certificate
- Right to work in the UK without restrictions on hours, as no visa sponsorship is offered
- Satisfactory compliance requirements before placement
