Practitioner Psychologist post at Arbury Court, a medium and low secure and psychiatric intensive care service for women aged 18 and over with personality disorder and mental illness, run by Elysium Healthcare. The work centres on individual and group psychological interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments and risk assessments for a caseload of complex patients. The post reports to the Consultant Psychologist and also covers staff reflective practice sessions and designing training. Applicants need HCPC registration and post-graduate qualifications.
What the job involves
- Carry a caseload of women with personality disorder and mental illness, assessing complex needs
- Deliver individual and group psychological interventions, both direct and indirect
- Design and deliver specialist psychological treatment plans that support care plans
- Carry out diagnostic and cognitive assessments using structured psychometric and clinical methods
- Undertake risk assessments and work within the multidisciplinary team
- Assess referrals and provide initial assessment to service users
- Facilitate staff reflective practice sessions
- Design and deliver training
- Make autonomous clinical decisions and be accountable for clinical work and care
- Maintain standards in line with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and company policies

Experience
- Experience applying psychological knowledge in a clinical or neuro setting
- Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits
- Experience conducting research and project work
- Experience carrying a caseload, including assessing complex needs and delivering specialist treatment

- Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
