Priory Highbank Centre, a 19-bed neuro-rehabilitation and complex neuro-disability facility, is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Lead to lead its multidisciplinary clinical team. The post covers clinical leadership, direct supervision of the nursing team, pre-admission and neuro assessments, and liaison with commissioners, families and external professionals. The post is full-time at 37.5 hours with on-call duties, and most referrals come from NHS funders for slow stream rehabilitation. Fit depends on post-qualification nursing experience and leadership in a neurological or complex care setting.
What the job involves
- Promote, monitor and implement service standards through clinical governance and audits
- Provide clinical leadership and role model to the whole team, including through supervision, mentoring and appraisals
- Develop working relationships with external professionals and clinical colleagues, ensuring practice meets Priory policy and statutory standards
- Lead the site clinical team, directly supervising the nursing team and supporting other clinicians
- Act as main contact and liaison for commissioners, families and external professionals supporting service users at site
- Conduct and organise pre-admission assessments following referrals, working with the whole MDT
- Carry out nursing and neuro assessments with clinical colleagues, then plan and deliver interventions
- Write nursing reports and lead or attend multidisciplinary team meetings with senior clinicians
- Lead the implementation of new innovations at site and share best practice across the service
- Undertake on-call duties as part of the site leadership team

Experience

- Managerial and leadership experience in a neurological or complex care service
